I like the idea of making money from content creation, but are you an introvert? do not be afraid. Here are 14 faceless content ideas that allow you to make money without showing your face!
That’s definitely the influencer’s age. Even if you don’t follow lifestyle influencers, it’s quite possible that you’ve listened to podcasts or followed YouTube tutorials from cooking to home repairs. Some of the best content comes from creators with smaller followers, and these types of channels can be a great source of income.
With recent changes to YouTube’s algorithms making it easier than ever for small creators to generate regular revenue, so now is the best time to start. You’ve thought about creating content yourself, but if the idea of appearing on camera is hindering you, you might be surprised to see faceless content channels and profiles thriving on video sites like Tiktok, YouTube, Instagram and more.
As someone who writes video content on sites like Looper and Islands, I know firsthand how rewarding it can be to create faceless videos.
Earn money with faceless content
How you earn money with all types of video content depends on the platform. However, these days, most content creators who do well tend to maximize their income through multiple revenue streams.
One common monetization strategy is to promote your product with affiliate marketing or a dedicated link that sends your audience to your website. When a user purchases a product through that site, the creator receives a fee.
Once you’ve created your follow, you can use sites like Redbubble and Gelato to create branded products with your favorite slogans that fans love to rock. As a mom to Gen Alpha Kid, I have fired several times over the years from creators like Jaiden Animations for products from rather difficult-to-use brands.
Almost every video content platform also has a way for fans to pay directly to influencers. This could be something like a special “sticker” that can be made through a subscription that allows subscribers to access additional content or special events, or that can be purchased along with donations to content creators.
Along these same lines, Patreon offers creators on all platforms a place to connect with their fans for subscription fees or direct donations to content creators.
While it can be difficult to pinpoint an influencer’s income, particularly as it can vary from year to month, some digital marketing consultant sites that estimate creator revenue suggest that small to medium sized creators can make from hundreds to thousands of dollars per month.
1. Create a cooking channel with no baking faces
If you consider yourself a food lover or a foodie, you might be able to run your cooking channel as easily as a pie. There is a great demand for this type of content. This is probably why recipe sites are constantly keeping an eye on new freelance writers.
When preparing your favorite recipes, grab a video clip of the cooking process from several camera angles, then add audio during the video production process to walk the viewer through the cooking process. If you’re unsure where to start, consider a niche dish. Long forgotten recipes, famous movies and TV shows foods, rare ingredients, and more.
2. Help people cool with ASMR content
As someone who struggles to fall asleep from time to time, I can’t say enough good things about faceless channels that focus on autonomous sensory meridian responses. It is more commonly known as ASMR. In short, ASMR channels provide content intended to be relaxed.
Some use gentle sounds such as whispers, spinning pages, or rain to stimulate a relaxed sensation for their viewers. Others may use soft language placed on sedative music to help subscribers relax.
Some of my favorite ASMR channels feature faceless YouTube videos. Check out the French whisper ASMR, presenting well-researched and informative content in his calm, French soft voice.
3. Develop affirmation or meditation channels
This is another great faceless YouTube channel idea that helps reduce the stress level of viewers, and works very well in short video formats for sites like Instagram. I’m obsessed with my sister-in-law Mel’s faceless Instagram channel, Slo Mel Wellness. She presents gentle affirmations and health wisdom with a relaxed British accent in touching visuals.
4. Help people with language learning
The world of freelance writers is full of English majors that are distant from education for many reasons. Use stock footage to place text and grammar skills used in faceless language learning channels that help English learners get a new language. Similarly, bilingual speakers and polyglots can provide valuable insight into the pronunciation and language learning process.
5. Start posting book reviews and book summary
Do you like to read? Make effective use of your passion for written pages by participating in the world of Booktok or BookTube. Summarize your latest reading, then talk to you about the themes, characters, and plot points that stand out, and tell you what you loved or didn’t love. This type of content pairs very well with stock footage and art images. For a great example of Gothic Literature Booktube channel, check out Raven’s Rants.
6. I’ll share a scary story
The creepy channels, especially those with Faceless Creepypasta (Internet Legend) videos, are one of my favorite guilt. If you’re getting creepy or a little crazy, this is a great content idea to get into.
There are different approaches that allow you to go to creepy channels. Share classic horror literature around urban legends, real historical horror stories, or creepy and dark images like Kyoto. Make sure to inject unique styles and approaches that will help you pick up more subscribers.
7. Product Reviews
Shoppers, this is for you. Product reviews and boxing videos are always looking for information about the product you are thinking of purchasing, so product reviews and boxing videos performance works very well.
My husband reviews high-tech products for his living. He is always amazed at the number of people who use his reviews to assist with the pre-purchase research process. Follow his advice: talk about the features of the product and then share commentary to help viewers make educated purchase decisions.
8. Digital Product Reviews
As someone who is always looking for new productivity tools to help you manage your workflow, I love finding honest digital product reviewers who provide authentic reviews rather than shameless half-baked promotions. With so many games, phone apps and even new software products constantly appearing, content titles actually write themselves.
9. Start a summary channel
If you’re like me and love talking about TV, start a summary channel that breaks down the latest episodes of your favorite shows, then talk about fan theory and things that Easter Egg viewers may have missed.
I’m a huge fan of the MGM series “From” and don’t get enough content from YouTube creator The Faceless Girl. Faceless Girl uses video clips from two series, using “From” and another series of my favorite TV show “Severance.” Her clever insight into the series is looking for her videos as soon as the new episodes end.

10. Make your workout fun
During the pandemic, I accidentally stumbled over the form of faceless children’s training channels that complete audience fitness games. Doing these with little kids is an explosion, but even my teenagers love them when we need to shake up a bit of our hometown blue. One of the best examples of this format is Mr. G’s PE introduces colorful characters such as Mario Players and Paw Patrol Critters with energetic music and a set of fitness goals.
11. Start a gameplay channel
If you’re way better than me, there’s a huge market for gameplay channels. It seems that at least one of my teenagers doesn’t get enough. Subscribers to these channels can watch useful video walkthroughs with their own gameplay and cool tricks that can be used in games like Minecraft and Roblox.
13. Share inspiring travel content
What I’ve learned and explored as an island travel writer is that great travel content helps viewers go beyond the obvious things they can learn from their travel guides. And you don’t need to hop the jet every time you post. Every trip can generate dozens of ideas, so there is plenty of room for advice, from packaging to choosing the right hotel accommodation.
14. Review local restaurants
Pick up your phone now and look at the camera reel. If you have at least one image of a dinner plate, what I personally guilty of is that the restaurant review channel may be suitable for your interests. It’s also a great way to support local businesses and bring something positive to your community.
Already hit the record!
I personally know how daunting it can be to start your first video channel. But remember: learning is a valuable part of the process. Even if you don’t feel like you’re killing it in week 2, I recall that some of my favorite content creators started out in one direction before eventually finding their footing in a slightly different niche.
The trick is to hit the records already, so you can work with them. Find an easy-to-use video editing app like Capcut. My best friend’s favorite running Zoh My, adorable (and you guessed it, faceless) cat content Tiktok page. Once you roll the ball, you can partner with affiliate marketing, sell your own products, or use Patreon to support your channel.
So, what are you waiting for? Settle into your niche and press the record button already!
