1. LinkedIn
My own experience as a remote worker has transformed me into a powerful advocate for work-life balance. He also became a mentor to those who wanted to invade the world of remote work. And I’m often amazed at the number of people I meet who don’t realize that LinkedIn is more than maintaining an online resume for potential employers to check out. In fact, most job seekers bet that they don’t fully understand the possibilities of this handy site. This includes inbox notifications based on user priority filters.
Once you have set up a really good LinkedIn profile and upload your resume, it’s very easy to search for Jobs on this platform and apply. Simply click the Jobs button at the top of the page and select “Actively Watch” or “Subtle Browsing.” Click the (Settings) tab on the left side of the page, select Remote Work for Job Location, add a job family to your search results, and sign up for email job alerts.

In fact, it works quite similarly to LinkedIn in terms of managing user profiles and searching for employment opportunities based on a specific keyword or category. When it comes to resume management, AI features built into this site – no additional fees are required to use them. I find it incredibly easy to use, especially when tweaking my resume for the various remote work opportunities that come my way. It also seems there is actually a bit less external content in terms of the list of these types of spam jobs that tend to occur on LinkedIn.
To confirm that you are actually signed up for email notifications, click Settings and then go to Communication Settings. Not only can you email notifications about job alerts, but you can also sign up to receive text messages directly from your recruiter.
3. Glassdoor
Glassdoor is a pretty reliable place to look for remote work, especially when it comes to corporate gigs. The search feature is easy to use, and the platform itself provides a clean, streamlined interface that works almost the same way. This site allows users to sign up for daily or weekly email alerts via job search or profiles based on their search criteria.
4. Ziprecruiter
Ziprecruiter is another big job platform with lots of remote work, especially when it comes to more business opportunities. Searching for jobs on this platform, uploading resumes and setting up profiles is easy. Users can sign up and click Notifications Settings to receive daily job alerts or instant notifications.
5. SimplyHired
SimplyHired is a recruitment site that appears to have actually been recently acquired. When I signed up for SimplyHired I was able to log in to my real account. This account was used by the site to automatically fill out my information. That probably means you can’t get work recommendations that are different from yours, but it’s not harmful to get information from as many sources as possible.
6. Job List
The job list is a bit difficult as this site appears to be suffering from the same illness as monsters. This is the OG of a Job Board that has been working at this point for over 30 years. This means you can search for remote jobs, but the site is still asking for location. However, unlike monsters, Joblist appears to embed search results on remote work opportunities from all, regardless of where you type.
To set up email alerts, simply click Manage Email Alerts from your profile page. From there, you can add a job title or keyword and do so.
7. Career Builder
I don’t really understand the algorithms of power search engines, but it seems that CareerBuilder has one of the better things in the world of job hunting platforms. Even the larger sites can take some work to get my search results to get exactly what I’m looking for, without any random sales jobs or opportunities from other unrelated fields that have been caught up in my freelance writing results. In contrast, CareerBuilder coughs hundreds of results that suit my criteria with a simple search.
To receive job alerts from CareerBuilder, after performing a favourable search, select “Set Job Alerts” and choose whether to receive daily or weekly notifications.
8. FlexJobs
You should warn this entry by either receiving email notifications about jobs or by disclosing that membership is required to access specific job details after a search. But it’s a highly rated job website that focuses entirely on remote and hybrid work, and doesn’t spend too much of an admission fee of $2.95 on a 14-day trial. 9. Simplification
Simplify might just be my new favorite remote job board. The site is extremely user-friendly and comes with a built-in support AI model, adding much more customized job offers than most other sites. Sign up for email notifications is the only one on this site and is not particularly intuitive. To find it, click Settings and select the options for daily or weekly email notifications.
10. It’s well discovered
WellFound is a company specializing in high-tech startups. Because it’s not a full apprentice job board, this platform offers a dramatically smaller job pool than a larger job board. However, it can be a great resource for the remote work market, especially those in high tech crawls, and you can easily sign up for email notifications when using your site’s search engine. As a freelance writer with a large-scale language model training experience, I have found quite a few remote work opportunities on this site that fit my career goals.
11. Job Light
Jobright is an AI-driven recruitment committee that uses the ASISTIVE model Orion. One of the cool things about this platform is that the bot actually tells you what percentage of matches each job is based on your profile and resume. This site automatically sends users daily email notifications when a good job match occurs, and the built-in AI chats with users about whether the job is suitable to improve recommendations.
Tips for maximizing your results
No one wants to flood their inbox with jobs that don’t fit exactly what they’re looking for. To get the best bang for your money (even if you’re just paying with mental bandwidth), take the time to fill out the details of all the profiles on each site. Even if the platform automatically enters your profile using your resume, take the time to get more specific and make sure the details are not changed.
I’ve noticed that some of these platforms have the ability to allow users to explain bioinformation in a rather detailed way. Many recruiters use AI to search for specific keywords, so using any space on the job platform allows you to narrow down the language that works for those high quality jobs.
I also like to fine-tune my profile based on keywords and skills found in employment opportunities that resonate with my career goals, so I always add it to my job board profile. There are many skills and software applications that I take for granted, but employers like to like being explicitly mentioned. There are even simple and easy to use apps like MailChimp, Trello and my favorite fun little design platform, Canva. In other words, if you have a productivity app you used, it’s not harmful to add it to your profile.
Conclusion: New Job Alerts are required
If you are committed to the work-life balance and flexibility that remote work offers, it will take time to set up remote employment opportunities profiles and email alerts and send emails, even if you are not in a hurry to pick up new jobs.
