Let’s face it, it’s tough to look for remote jobs. If you want to abandon your office and work from home with your PJ, we have 8 proven tips to find remote work faster!

With many US companies nowadays bringing employees back to the office, it can take a little longer than usual to be very completely remote or from home.

The latest perks survey of more than 500 US HR managers from talent seekers and business consulting firm Robert Half showed that 88% of employers offer some form of hybrid work options. The company’s US job posting database revealed that almost a quarter of new job postings in the second quarter of 2025 were hybrid, with 12% completely distant.

With these numbers in mind, you may wonder how long your job hunt should usually last. With everyone and every role unique, it is difficult to say for sure how long it will take to acquire a new role in a desired company.

However, there is some FlexJobs data that estimates that time frame. Some employment experts say that it takes three to six months to go through the process of applying for a job and taking part in an interview (and follow-up interview) before finally providing the position, according to reports from the job site.

Taking that into consideration, there are some practical job search strategies that can now be used to find full-time remote jobs in the US and later, and potentially landing quickly.

1. Search for a remote job listing site

This may seem simple, but it’s wise to start a search with a company that focuses solely on remote work. And you’re reading this story from a woman working from home, so it’s safe to say you’re already on the right track. However, in addition to our website, of course, there are several other platforms and online locations to search for remote roles.

You can check out remote job boards such as Working Remote, FlexJobs (requires a paid subscription), Real Ways to Earn, Rat Race Rebellion, Remote Nurse, Flex Professional, Job Spresso, or Nurse Fern.

2. Automate remote job search

Things can be challenging enough when you are looking for a new job. Make it easy yourself while hunting for work by automating every step you can do along the way.

In other words, when you visit some remote job sites, including people like Endquired.com or GlassDoor.com, you can set up an account and sign in to access cutting-edge searches and alert the site, so don’t miss out on any potential remote opportunities.

You can also use site filters to set up personalized searches for specific job types or categories of remote-only jobs. If you are a graphic artist, you will show you that you are looking for remote only jobs for your creative.

Many sites allow you to choose how often email notifications you receive. If you’re in a hurry, you can choose to receive new job alerts in your inbox every day. If you don’t need emails or ads that are messy in your computer’s inbox, you can choose to have one alert about a new job.

3. Optimize LinkedIn for Remote Jobs

Don’t forget to take advantage of the power of the popular business site LinkedIn. With over 180 million US users, it’s a great place for recruiters and job seekers, including remote companies considering hiring.

To take advantage of all the ways to alert colleagues and potential employment managers and recruiters about your status, you will need to add the phrase “Open to remote work” to the profile heading and the “Abert” section of the page. You can also customize your profile photo by using the “Open To Work” label on your photos.

4. Make sure your resume emphasizes remote skills

When applying for a remote position, it is wise to make sure your resume reflects all the skills that will help you with remote employment. For example, include keywords such as “remote” and specify the tools and software that can be used in remote configurations such as Zoom, Trello, Slack, Monday, and Asana.

Employment managers want to see that you can work remotely before you hire you. So quantifying resume outcomes is a wise move, and according to HR experts, it can provide managers (and recruiters) with the necessary evidence and insights about independent productivity.

5. Target Remote Friendly Companies

Some job postings, including Work at Home Woman, provide resources such as top companies that consistently employ remote workers. You can visit those sites or do a quick Google search to identify the companies that recruit and hire employees for remote online jobs. When searching for related results, use accurate phrases such as “remote OK”, “remote first”, and “full remote”. Companies working remotely include a list of the top 100 companies that employ remotely, highlighted by companies that currently actively employ them.

Another way to find the most remote and friendly companies that offer flexibility is to search for businesses online and read the company profile. Once you find something that looks right, check that other employees are talking about you, make sure you can expect a salary for full-time and part-time jobs, and get to know on career sites including GlassDoor.com. 6. Remote friendly group network

Another way to find remote work faster in a variety of career areas is to search and surround yourself with people currently working in the faraway world. How can I do this? Consider joining a Slack or LinkedIn group that caters to work from the crowd at home.

So if you want to get an internal scoop of the best new remote jobs (and insights on remote work trends), go to LinkedIn. Here you can choose from many remote job groups and pages, including jobs at Home Woman and dailyremote.com. You can also see how many members each group has, allowing you to choose from the largest remote work community. These online groups could potentially lead to more flexible jobs and remote job boards to speed up the process.

7. Adjust your resume to fit your job description

It may seem like a lot of time, but customizing your new recruitment application for each specific role is essential. It means updating your resume with the words listed in the job description whenever possible. Once you’ve refined your resume with a new cover letter, try writing it out one last time before submitting it.

About tips: If a potential employer requests a portfolio or any other example of your job, make sure you include them in the exact format requested. It’s a shame that you lose to work because you didn’t follow the instructions.

8. Don’t forget to follow up

If you have not heard of it 7-14 days after applying for a job, you should carefully and professionally follow up with your employment manager or recruiter and ask about the timeline to meet the position of interest. Job Coach is a great way to differentiate yourself from other job candidates and can help you showcase your communication skills.

Find remote work faster: Conclusion

If you’ve been looking for a great remote job without good fortune for a while, take your heart. New remote jobs and gigs are being added to your job board every day by companies around the world. Before submitting your next batch of resumes, take your time to make sure you see job opportunities on the right platform and adjust the application to reflect keywords from the job description. Plus, if you haven’t heard it in a few weeks, don’t forget to follow up politely. Good luck!
