Looking for a remote internship? Got it. Not everyone lives within daily driving distance of large markets where popular companies are headquartered. (Hello, NASA, Google, Microsoft.) But thanks to technology, people thousands of miles away from the top companies they want to work for can still have the opportunity to secure internships at those companies.

Let’s face it. Internships are increasingly seen as essential to landing many jobs, with some companies offering full-time spots to those who successfully complete an internship. This is often a way for companies to ensure that an employee is a good fit before making them a permanent employee.

You may be surprised to learn that many reputable companies in various industries offer remote internships that allow participants to work from home. Another good news is that interns are no longer only needed during the summer. Some companies offer seasonal and year-round opportunities, including hybrid and remote options, allowing even more flexibility for students and recent graduates.

This article details more than a dozen legitimate companies and nonprofit organizations that regularly offer remote or virtual internships.
